2020 Summary

The Japanese stock market in 2020 ended with the Nikkei average of 27,444.17 yen (up 16.0% from the end of last year)

and TOPIX 1,804.68 (up 4.8% from the end of last year).

Overall, the Japanese stock exchange was a bull market this year.

Still, airlines, department stores, and food service-related businesses ha devastating results,

and there were big differences depending on the industry.

Below is the volatility of the stock prices, which I introduced on my blog this year.

I think it wasn't bad for those who were able to buy intensively during the March crash.

Still, there was a significant difference in profit and loss depending on the timing of the purchase,

perhaps so for those who have just started stocks this year may have experienced a harsh lesson.

I believe the skills that should be acquired in the future are language (if you are a Japanese resident, the Japanese language), programming, and finance.

While I think stock investment is very effective in learning finance such as financial matters,

I would like you to continue investing in stocks to increase your financial literacy and learn from your failures.

I hope 2021 will be a good year for everyone!
